Start date is ASAP for this 6+ month contract position.<br><br><strong>Job Title:</strong> Elastic Administrator<br><strong>Location-Type:</strong> Remote (local to Evansville, IN / greater tri-state area is a plus)<br><strong>Start Date:</strong> ASAP<br><strong>Duration:</strong> 6+ Month Contract<br><strong>Compensation Range:</strong> $60-65/hr <br><strong>Benefits:</strong> Eligible for Health, Dental, Vision, and 401K<br><strong>Visa Sponsorship:</strong> Not eligible for visa sponsorship<br><br><strong>Job Description:</strong><ul><li>The client is seeking an experienced Elastic Administrator to own the day-to-day health, stability, and ongoing administration of an on-premises Elastic platform supporting enterprise logging and observability.</li></ul><strong>Job Summary</strong><ul><li>Administer and maintain the full Elastic stack, including Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana, across large multi-node production clusters</li><li>Manage core platform components including ILM policies, sharding, replication, and data pipelines via Logstash and Elastic Agent</li><li>Monitor and ensure platform stability, reliability, and performance within an on-premises Linux environment</li><li>Manage storage capacity and data flow to maintain a healthy and performant Elastic environment</li><li>Plan and execute version upgrades for the Elastic stack over the contract period</li><li>Write Python or Bash scripts to automate administrative and operational tasks</li><li>Serve as the primary owner of platform health, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact operations</li></ul><strong>Minimum Requirements:</strong><ul><li>3-5 years of hands-on Elastic administration experience, including direct management of large multi-node production clusters</li><li>Deep expertise in Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Elastic Agent, and pipeline configuration</li><li>Demonstrated experience managing ILM policies, sharding, and replication in a production environment</li><li>Strong Linux systems experience supporting the infrastructure on which the Elastic platform runs</li><li>Scripting proficiency in Python or Bash for automation tasks</li><li>On-premises platform engineering experience, not limited to cloud-only environments</li></ul><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong><ul><li>Background as a platform engineer with a specialty in Elastic administration</li><li>Experience administering Elastic stacks used for logging and observability use cases</li><li>Familiarity with storage management in large-scale distributed environments</li><li>Local to the Evansville, IN / greater tri-state area<br></li></ul>
